It is always difficult to fully encompass a political party’s views on key issues, and especially so when it comes to a big tent such as the Duval Democratic Party. We are about as diverse a party as it comes along almost every line imaginable; but through this effort we were able to demonstrate that we do, in fact, stand for something. And not just something, but important, real issues our county, state, and country face at this critical moment in history.
The specifics of a particular policy aside, this document is a reminder that we all stand for our core principles of Equity, Justice, and Opportunity for All. It is meant to guide us in our advocacy for a Duval County, Florida, and United States that embraces and invests in every one of us as valuable members of the community. Together we can make a difference in our community by standing for not just ourselves, but our neighbors, as well.
United We Stand, Divided We Fall. That is the core of what it means to get involved in our democracy and it is our responsibility to choose, and hold accountable, elected officials who will spend their time working to uphold that ethos, not work to the contrary.
Join us on this journey to raise the bar for ALL of Duval.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) writes and adopts a new party platform at each Democratic National Convention to detail our shared Democratic values and policy priorities. Whether it’s health care, the economy, education, gun reform, equal pay, voting rights, national security, or the climate crisis, the Democratic Party understands that there’s no single issue that matters more than the rest. Democrats are tackling these issues and others every day.
