We believe government should work for everyday people, not just the wealthy and well-connected. We believe every Floridian deserves the freedom to build a good life through hard work, with access to quality public education, affordable healthcare, safe communities, clean water, and the opportunity to earn a decent living. We believe democracy works best when every voice is heard, every vote is counted, and every person is treated with dignity and respect.
As Democrats, we believe in showing up for one another. We believe in protecting fundamental freedoms, defending workers and working families, supporting small businesses, and ensuring that no one is left behind because of who they are, where they come from, or what zip code they live in. We believe Florida is strongest when we come together around shared values of fairness, opportunity, accountability, and hope for the future.
Most of all, we believe in people. In neighbors helping neighbors. In communities organizing for change. In the idea that even when things feel difficult, we still have the power to build a better, more affordable, more just Florida for everyone.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) writes and adopts a new party platform at each Democratic National Convention to detail our shared Democratic values and policy priorities. Whether it’s health care, the economy, education, gun reform, equal pay, voting rights, national security, or the climate crisis, the Democratic Party understands that there’s no single issue that matters more than the rest. Democrats are tackling these issues and others every day.
