BEACHES DEMOCRATIC CLUB

OUR GOAL: TO STRENGTHEN DEMOCRACY BY ELECTING DEMOCRATS.

We recruit, inform, inspire, and enable Democrats to be politically knowledgeable and effective in dealing with local, state, and national issues of concern to Democrats. We have interesting speakers and programs and emphasize ‘doing something’ about our concerns.

Our members are active in letter writing, voter registration, get-out-the vote campaigns, and working hard for Democratic Candidates. We regularly hold forums on issues of concern to area residents and events for candidates seeking various offices. The club meets at 7 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

For more information, visit BeachesDemocraticClub.org or our Facebook page. Or, check the Calendar of Events to see scheduled speakers and programs.

MISSION

Our mission is to raise overall social, economic, and political awareness and education, support the elected and appointed Democratic officials in FL, and offer advocacy & outreach to all demographics and classifications of Blacks across Jacksonville, Florida, and Duval County.

PURPOSE

Our purpose is to stimulate a participating interest in public affairs that will foster better and more representative government and to promote the principles of the Democratic Party. The Caucus is established under the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida which is an integral part of the Florida Democratic party’s infrastructure, which unites talent and opportunity to facilitate voter participation and turnout and building voter capacity and election success through educational forums Affecting Voter Registration Drives (EVRD), Get Out the Vote (GOTV), Voter Action Network (VAN), Vote by Mail (VBM), and support of qualified candidates approved by the Black Caucus.

MEETINGS

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused the Duval County Democratic Black Caucus to pivot in organizing our meetings and events, moving from in-person gatherings at the Highlands Branch Library to all virtual meetings with ZOOM implementation every first Tuesday of the month. The DCDBC embraces these changes and believes in science in these uncertain times.

The DCDBC will take full advantage of this opportunity and believe in the Caucus's potential to expand our reach, engaging and empowering members, potential members, and constituents to connect and organize locally and abroad.

Democratically Yours,

James J. Morton

President DCDBC

DEMOCRATIC WOMEN'S INFORMATION NETWORK

Welcome.  Rejoice!

The Democratic Women’s Information Network, DWIN, is dedicated to its mission: “Growing a network of energized, talented, informed Democratic Women on the First Coast who nurture and tap the power of women to elect more Democrats and more Women.”

DWIN was chartered in 2003 by the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida (DWCF) www.democratic-women.org and the National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) www.nfdw.com.

Fifteen years later, our theme: “Let PEACE begin with me.  Let this be the moment now.” – from “Let There Be Peace on Earth” affirms that we are indeed “peace consciousness” itself. This awareness will show us how we are truly “Stronger Together” as we mindfully persist in full faith and confidence to advance our democratic values and principles into a sustainable future.

Democratic Women’s Information Network Officers and Members have consistently participated in every aspect of our organization’s local, state, and national programs and projects, legislation and advocacy, to expand and strengthen our grassroots growth from research and development to implementation. What follows is a listing of DWIN accomplishments in collaboration with DWCF, FDP, DCDEC, DEDBC, DCDHC, DCDSC, JYD, JAXEquality, NOW.

Annual Membership Dues are $30; plus, a one-time $10 charge for Name Badge. www.duvaldwin.org
